The New Year often brings resolutions, starting over, and throwing out the old.  Reflection is a powerful tool in classrooms that we often overlook.  If you are new to centers, check out my previous article for tips on setting up centers.  As the second semester gets underway (provided we make it to school between the snow storms) here are five things you can do to freshen up centers in the elementary classroom.

1.  There’s an app for that!  If you have computer or technology centers check out some new things for students to use.  Coding is a great way for students to practice writing and thinking skills.  Hopscotch, Scratch, Cargo Bot, Story Telling Alice, Game Star Mechanic are all fun!  These great coding programs are available as websites and Apps so whatever your technology you should be able to find what fits to you.
