In March of 2012, The Educator’s Room published its first group book entitled, “Keep the Fire Burning: Avoiding Teacher Burnout”. The book tackled the topic of teacher burnout through the eyes of actual teachers who gave real strategies to help empower their fellow teachers. The book was met with great success and acclaim from educators across the country. As a matter of fact, read some of the reviews below.

I just finished devouring “Keep the Fire Burning” Wow! I couldn’t put it down and read it in one evening! This book has many excerpts written by real life teachers and their experiences with burnout potential. My two favorite pieces from the book just happen to be by writer Lori Rice, which were on Pg. 32, when referring to how often people feel that teachers become teachers “…when there is not another option.” Ms. Rice goes on to say how she could’ve chosen any myriad of professions but yet she states, “I CHOSE teaching.” Finally in her afterword on pg 120, it’s like she read my mind when she wrote, “You are here because you want to be part of this journey. Your inner teacher has lead you to explore and find answers to keep you in the work of children….You are here for a reason. There is a place for you to go next in education.” Perfect! This book touched me deeply in many ways! I recommend a copy for every teacher old and new!

After receiving a lot of emails from other teachers who wanted to tell their stories, we decided it would only be right to release a volume two of the book! So in January 2014 Keep the Fire Burning: Avoiding Teacher Burnout Volume 2 will be released! If you’re interested in contributing a chapter, please fill out the form below! Just like the first book, we want to keep this book authentic–so we are only asking current (or former) teachers to submit their stories!
