5.  Use character development! My students have been researching and creating posters for the Habits of Mind. They are learning about daily skills of persistence, listening with empathy, thinking interdependently. Free posters can be found on the Habits of Mind site.
Centers are a way for students to practice. Through practice learning occurs. I always know it is time to change my centers when disruptions seem to start. Take some time as the semester gets started to reflect on which centers are popular, which centers are working, and use some of these simple suggestions to bring new life into centers that need a tweak.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
