Thinking about school as part of our students’ busy lives is important in education today. Families are busy with dual working parents, sports practices, church groups, dance/gymnastics/music lessons, and activities too numerous to list.  The days of school being the entire world of a student are long gone.  Educators need to set realistic expectations of students’ time outside of their classroom and give meaningful homework that moves their learning forward, not homework that is busy repetition taking more time than families have to give.  If it can be done in the classroom respect students’ time and don’t give homework at all. To see the fourth thing we can learn from companies click here.
