2.   I utilize my planning period. Everyone gets a planning period, but unfortunately teachers are usually called to do other things. Knowing this, there are days I “hide” in my room with the lights lowered, curtains drawn so I can get time to actually grade. It’s amazing what I can get done on a 60-90 minute planning period.  If I’m forced to go to some type of training then I bring my papers with me and become THAT teacher that sits in the back of the training grading papers while I wait on the training to start.
