It’s too easy to exploit a well-known brand for criticism. Barbie is a whole another story. Yes, most of her facemolds are made smiling, which is pretty normal for vast majority of toys, since we see childhood as a happy time. And of course she is a perfection – never-yelling-always-patience-and-passionate-never-to-achieve-ideal-one-of-a-kind-genius. Still, why is SHE to be attacked talking about teachers having different views on USA mistake, called president? Barbie is about very many things. And she is never about compliance, political passiveness or anything like that. Barbie brought an image of a black female president in 1991. Yes, in all fabulous glory with a charming smiling Christie mold. Still, you can’t say that a doll, character, a woman image is passive just because she is good looking and smiling. You exploit Barbie for promoting your views. It’s unfair. She never was your opponent. And there is nothing unnatural in being slim, by the way 😉
