Reason #2: Motivated Students. Students generally take Summer School for two reasons: to catch up on credits or get ahead. In both cases, students are highly motivated to perform in the summer course. The students who want to get ahead are obviously already academically motivated. The students who are behind because they have already failed the course don’t want to risk taking it a third time or even jeopardize their graduation from high school. In both cases, there is urgency to Summer School that is often missing during the normal academic year. Click here for reason number one.
