3. Speed Conversing – Set the room up so that students are seated in pairs. Give the students some basic prompts to generate and sustain a conversation on the desired topic. Students speak with their partner for 30 seconds to two minutes (depending on their facility with the language and the topic). The teacher rings a bell and the students rotate to a new partner.
